On 31st May, 2024 QFI members and guests came together for the Queensland Finance Summit.
It was an insightful discussion amongst the panel, highlighting the strengths and opportunities ahead for Queensland financial services. The summit emphasised the importance of nurturing local talent and fostering innovation. There was a strong consensus on the need to retain and develop financial services professionals in Queensland to sustain the industry’s growth and global competitiveness.
The panel highlighted Queensland's strategic position in the energy transition. Investments in renewable energy and sustainable finance were discussed as critical to driving economic growth and meeting global sustainability goals.
The summit underscored the significance of strategic partnerships and the need for a growth mindset. Collaborative efforts between public and private sectors were seen as vital to harnessing Queensland’s economic potential, from infrastructure to technological advancements.
