On the 4th of July, the Queensland Futures Institute partnered with AmCham to host an exceptional event featuring Queensland Premier, the Honourable David Crisafulli. With over 500 senior leaders gathered, Premier Crisafulli delivered a compelling keynote address highlighting Queensland’s strategic priorities and affirming the significance of the US-Australia relationship, especially amid current geopolitical challenges. He underscored the state's proactive stance on defence industry opportunities through AUKUS, advocated for establishing a permanent US Consul-General presence in Queensland, and emphasised the enormous economic potential of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics as a catalyst for growth in tourism and infrastructure.
In a dynamic Q&A session moderated by AmCham CEO April Palmerlee, Premier Crisafulli further articulated his vision for Queensland, outlining ambitious plans including hosting the prestigious Quad Summit to strengthen Queensland's international diplomacy. He conveyed optimism and clarity around the state's capacity to leverage global uncertainty into abundant opportunities. The event successfully combined thoughtful dialogue on Queensland's strategic economic future with a celebration of American Independence Day, reinforcing the enduring partnership between Queensland and the United States.
